In a wet meadow, below the old shoreline of Lough Gara. A low oval grass-covered mound (9.9m N-S; 12.4m E-W; max. H 0.72m above the meadow) with an even surface. Occasional small stones (diam. 0.2m) protrude through the grass, especially on the W portion. The edges slope gradually and are quite distinct in material. This crannog is surrounded by a series of three oblong mounds (43.2m x 9.5m; 41.5m x 10.5m; 24.2m x 12m) consisting of shattered or fire-cracked stones enclosing an area 31m in internal diameter. Marked by Cross (1953, fig. 1) as one of a group of seven sites in the N half of Ross townland. (Fredengren 2002, KILA 040)
