What is recorded here

In a water meadow, 29m from the old shoreline of Lough Gara and 10m from the summer water level. A somewhat dry area (10m N-S; 7m E-W; H 0.2m above the meadow), with diffuse irregular edges, that seems to consist of stones on sand and lake-mud. (Cross 1953, fig. 1; Fredengren 2002, KILA 043) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008
