What is recorded here

Near the top of a short moderately steep, N-facing pasture slope, at the W end of a low E-W ridge, overlooking Lough Gara to W. A fairly poorly preserved, large oval area (52m NW-SE; 43m NE-SW) is enclosed by an overgrown low, broad earthen bank (int. H 0.3-0.4m; av. Wth 8m; ext. H 1.5-1.7m) and a wide outer fosse (Wth 5-7m; D 0.8-1.6m) NNE-E-S-NW, and by a long low scarp (H 1.1m) NW-N. A modern wooden bridge spans the fosse at ENE and a ramped, modern gap (Wth 3.8m) gives access at SSW. The interior slopes slightly downwards from SE to NW and is in meadow grass.
