In Lough Gara, c. 20m from the NE shore of Derrymore Island and submerged c. 0.15-0.5m below the water. Kesh Corann and the Curlew Mountains are visible in the distance. This is possibly a natural shoal (25.7m NW-SE; 7.3m NE-SW; H 0.95m above the lake-bed) of stony material on top of gravel and blue clay, following the direction of the surrounding drumlins. Further underwater survey would be needed to confirm that it is a crannog. Another possible crannog (SL047-099----) is to the W. (Cross 1953, fig. 1; Fredengren 2002, KILA 019)
