What is recorded here

According to Wood-Martin (1882, 200), there is a 'sepulchural mound' at Corradoo said to commemorate the fallen in some great battle. The exact location of the mound is not known. In 1836 the tradition of a great battle in Bearnaigh Lamhach in 'Curradooey' was recorded (OSL, 416). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
