What is recorded here

Not listed in either the SMR (1989) or the RMP (1995). Not indicated on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. In a cliff-edge fort (SL040-080001-). Within the fosse of the fort on the W side close to the cliff edge and slightly recessed into sloping ground, is a ruined limekiln. The remains consist of a small circular feature (4.5m E-W; 4m N-S) defined by a collapsed sod-covered wall (Wth 1.6m; H 0.9m), open to N. This is likely to be post 1700 in date.
