What is recorded here

In rolling pasture, on the N-facing slope of a drumlin. A roughly circular area (int. diam. 20.8m N-S) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 2m; ext. H 1m) with a shallow silted-up external fosse. The interior is concave; the N portion is raised to compensate for the hillslope. There is a small oval mound (4.3m x 3.7m; H 0.4m) in the N half of the interior with some small limestone boulders next to it. The bank is incorporated into the field boundary system N-W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008
