In pasture, on a slight rise. Discovered in 1928 during sand quarrying and described by Morris (1929, 113-5) as a cist (L 29in [0.73m]; Wth 16in [0.4m]; D 12in [0.3m]) formed of four thin slabs with a stone floor and a covering slab. It contained cremated human bone and a corroded and shrivelled bronze halberd. The underside of the covering slab was decorated with a faint wavy band of pitting (L 3ft [0.9m]; Wth 1in [0.025m]). This short cist has not been precisely located and it is possible that it is in that part of Moylough townland which is on OS 6-inch map 43. (Waddell 1990, 133)
