What is recorded here

In undulating pasture, on top of a low rise. A raised roughly semicircular area (28m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 1m) WSW-ESE. The interior is crossed by a field boundary on an E-W axis and the scarp is less well defined on the S side of this boundary. The NW quadrant has been recently dug out. A field system (SL038-016002-) lies c. 40m to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
