A bridge is indicated on the Down Survey (1655-6) map of County Sligo at or close to the location of the present bridge over the River Moy at Banada. This bridge is in the immediate vicinity of Banada Abbey (SL037-068001-), which is on the W bank of the River Moy. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
