Within a possible ecclesiastical enclosure (SL036-033002-). Standing on a low D-shaped sod-covered mound (H c. 1m; 13.5m N-S; 12.4m E-W) are fragmentary remains of a rectangular church (int. dims. 6.7m E-W; 4.4m N-S). Surviving sections of walling stand to c. 0.7m high but no doorway or window features are evident. The mound, which is indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map, is likely to be made up of rubble fallen from the church. Recorded in 1836 as the 'remains of an old nunnery' (OSNB vol. 2, 164), but no such foundation is listed by Gwynn and Hadcock (1970). The site of a graveyard (SL037-021----) lies immediately to the E. No remains are evident of the 'Children's Burial Ground' (SL036-033001-) marked at this location on the 1914 OS 6-inch map.
