In 1942-4 a holy well known as 'Tobermore' was recorded on the land of J. Harte though there had been no pilgrimages to it for over 80 years (ITA). The exact location of this holy well is not known and it is possible that it is in that part of Treanmore which is on OS 6-inch map 41.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
