What is recorded here

In undulating pasture, on an E-facing slope. Remains of a circular area (diam. c. 70m) defined by an arc of earthen bank (Wth 1.9m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.1m) SE-N which is also visible in an aerial photograph (GSIAP, G 272-3). There are no visible remains of any enclosing element elsewhere. An E-W field boundary crosses the interior off-centre to S with cross walls to N and S. There is a hut site (SL035-060002-) in the SW quadrant. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
