In rough pasture, on a SE-facing slope just off the top of a ridge. Described during a previous site inspection in 1992 (SMR (1989) file) as a raised circular area (32m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 6m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 2m) with an external fosse (Wth 5m) overgrown with rushes. An entrance (Wth 3m) was noted at ENE and traces of external stone kerbing were evident especially along the W arc. The fosse was skirted E-SW by a curving field boundary. Linear field boundary immediately to W. This rath is now surrounded by a mature coniferous forest and is inaccessible.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
