What is recorded here

In pasture, on a SE-facing slope. A roughly circular area (31m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.9m) N-NNE and by a scarp (ext. H 0.6m) NNE-SE. The S perimeter of the interior is truncated by a substantial earth and stone field boundary. Elsewhere the enclosing element has been removed but the limit of the rath is visible as a band of darker grass and a very slight inward-facing scarp. The E half of the interior is crossed by NW-SE field boundary and drain. To W of this boundary the interior has been extensively disturbed and levelled down to external ground level, is now a dumping area for old cars and the S half of it is densely covered with overgrowth. On the E side of the boundary, the interior is undisturbed, slightly raised above external ground level and slopes slightly down to SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.
