In pasture, on a low rise. A roughly circular area (diam. c. 47m) defined by a scarp (max. H 2m). The interior rises gently from the edge to the top of a low rise; foundations of a large rectangular stone building (15.3m NE-SW; 6.3m NW-SE) are at the centre. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a large trapezoidal enclosure (70m N-S; 60m E-W) with a curving E side. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
