In 1836 an old abbey (SL031-005001-), a graveyard (SL031-005002-) and a well called 'Tober Cuimín' were recorded in the townland of Kilcummin (OSNB vol. 1, 30). The exact location of the well is not known but a bullaun stone (SL031-006002-) indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map may have given rise to the name 'Tober Cuimín'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
