What is recorded here

In pasture, a short distance WSW from the top of a prominent hillock. A slightly raised, roughly oval area (34.7m WNW-ESE; 23.3m NNE-SSW) enclosed ENE-S by a low grass-covered bank of earth and stone (Wth 4.3m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1m) and by a scarp (H 0.4m) along the W arc. For the remainder of the circuit the bank has been levelled and its outline is now identifiable in only a few places. A field boundary wall (long axis NNE-SSW) crosses the W half of the interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
