The source of this record is recorded simply as ‘Burenhult 1980’ (SMR file). It would appear to refer to Structure 24 recorded in Field XIV on Map 3 (Burenholt 1980, 86) as the adjoining Structure 26 corresponds with the ring barrow (SL020-016----). Burenhult refers to these ‘structures’ as an ‘assembly of earthworks’ with ‘little or no relation to each other (functionally or chronologically) but with overall morphological similarities’ (1980, 93). It is listed as ‘Structure 24. Knocknahur North’ in the list (ibid., 94). It is mentioned again with reference to phosphate surveys undertaken in Field XIV but no further details are recorded (ibid., 105). A field inspection in 1991 failed to locate this ‘structure’/’earthwork’. The precise nature of this ‘structure’ is unknown and a proper elucidation of this feature must await further investigation.
