What is recorded here

Located in level, marshy ground at the base of a steep ESE-facing slope which forms the W side of a NE-SW valley. One of a series of fulachtaí fia and burnt mounds which occur over a distance of c. 1.5km along the flat-bottomed valley. An irregular-shaped mound (max. dim. 11.8m ENE-WSW) composed of shattered sandstone within a charcoal matrix. It is highest (H 0.6m) at W with lower extensions at E and SE. The irregular plan and uneven surface of the mound are probably the result of disturbance. A second burnt mound (SL019-212002-) is located 8m to SSW.
