In rough to average pasture, in an area of sharply undulating terrain overlooked to E by Red Hill. Located towards the SW end of a NE–SW ridge, with a steep fall of ground at SE and also at W–SW. At E there is a gentler slope. Slightly raised oval area (29m N–S; 18.5m E–W) defined by degraded remnants of a stone wall (ext. H 0.5m at E, 1.4m at W). The interior ground surface is uneven and strewn with sod-covered stones. At the inner face of the cashel wall in the SW quadrant there is an opening into a souterrain (SL018-051003-). Immediately to N of the opening, there is a linear surface depression, extending from the cashel wall into the interior to ENE for c. 7m, which appears to indicate the line of the souterrain. The cashel is dilapidated and poorly preserved. There is an enclosure (SL018-051004-) immediately to E.
