What is recorded here

Situated on a NW-SE rise on top of an E-W ridge. Raised circular platform (44m E-W; 41.5m N-S) defined by a substantial earthen bank (Wth 7.9-8.5m; int. H 1.2-1.5m; ext. H 2.9-3.6m). Enclosing the base of the platform is a fosse (Wth 3.8m; ext. D 0.5-1.5m) which is deepest at S–W. The entrance is at E where there is a break in bank, eroded now to a width of c. 6m, with an accompanying causeway (Wth. 4m) across fosse. Within the W part of the interior is a circular, flat-topped mound (SL018-047002-). Within the SE part of the interior is a linear depression which may mark a collapsed souterrain (see SL018-047003-). Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
