Within a coniferous plantation. To W ground falls away into the Easkey River valley. There is another field boundary (SL017-076----) c. 150m to E and a portal tomb (SL017-040----) c. 130m to NE. This record was listed in the RMP (1995) as ‘field wall –pre-bog’: the source of this record is unknown and there is no field report from the 1990’s on file. In the RMP (1995) the location was recorded as IG 140260 330650 (equating with ITM 540224 830657), placing it approximately 35m S of an E-W road. The area was inspected in 2014. No trace of the field wall was found at the location of the RMP (1995) co-ordinates. The density of the trees and forest litter made a more wide-ranging search impossible. The exact location of the field wall remains unknown.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
