In a level expanse of heather- and sedge-covered cutaway blanket bog. This record refers to a field boundary which was noted in this area in the early 1990’s. It was listed in the RMP (1995) as ‘field wall -pre-bog’ at IG 138840 330820 (equating to ITM 538804 830827): the source of this record is unknown and there is no field report from the 1990’s on file. The location as depicted on the 1913 OS 6-inch map is largely featureless and it is likely that the co-ordinates recorded in the RMP (1995) were approximate only. The area was inspected in 2014 and no trace of the field wall was found. The exact location of the field wall remains unknown.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
