What is recorded here

In an area of regenerating cutaway bog, located on the edge of a steep E-facing slope which falls to the Owenykeevan River. Included in the SMR (1989) on the basis of a circular feature visible in an aerial photograph (GSI G 106-7; Roll 157, pr. 24). Field investigation in 1993 suggested that it might be the remains of a quarry, and it was not listed in the RMP (1995). It consists of a roughly circular area (c. 15m E–W; c. 14m N–S) defined by a low bank with a rounded crest and concave slopes. It is entirely covered by bog and it is not possible to determine its exact nature. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Dat of upload: 18 June 2013
