What is recorded here

Straddling a slight hillock, in gently undulating pasture, 150m N of the N shore of Colgagh Lough. A cashel (SL015-041---) is visible 120m to the SW. Circular raised area (diam. 28m) enclosed by a broad bank of earth and stone (Wth 7.6m; int. H 0.3m). There is no fosse visible at ground level. A modern NNW-ESE drystone field wall has been constructed on top of the bank NE-E. A break (Wth 2.1m) in the bank with a ramp to the exterior at S marks the position of the original entrance. The centre of the site is c.2m higher then external ground level as the site is built around a natural rise. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
