At Carrowmore passage tomb cemetery. The above ground remains of this monument (National Monument No. 153) were removed in the 19th century. It consisted of a boulder circle with a central construction. When inspected in 1837 by Petrie (Notebook, no. 25, p. 68. Royal Irish Academy Ms. 23, L44) it had been recently damaged, and surviving remains included the supporting stones, but not the capstone, of the central structure as well as three stones of the enclosing circle. By 1888 there was no visible trace (Wood-Martin 1888, 60). A slight rise in ground level is evident now at the location (Bergh 1995, 192, Carrowmore 28).
