On the summit of Knocknarae Mountain, located 75m S of a large passage tomb, known as Maeve’s Cairn (MA014-076003-). There is a possible passage tomb (MA014-076007-) 8m to NNE, and a cairn (MA014-076009-) 26m to SE.
This is evident as a low, oval grass-covered rise (4.5m N−S; 4m E−W; 0.25m), which appears to be composed primarily of fragmentary limestone. It is defined on its perimeter by a barely discernible fosse. A block of white quartzite (0.35m x 0.15m), which does not occur naturally on Knocknarae, is located on the perimeter at E. (Bergh 1995, 241, site 8). This is a National Monument (No. 153) in state ownership.
