Listed in the SMP (1989) as a building (unlocated). Not in the RMP (1995). This record refers to a large building, possibly a castle, shown on the Down Survey maps (1656-58) for the Parish of Skreen in the barony of Tireragh. It is named ‘Mullaghgassan’ and ‘Mullegisan’ on the maps; the exact location is unknown but it may have been located in the SE part of what is now Doonflin Lower Td.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
