In an unclassified barrow (SL012-053001-). This pit-burial was discovered when the barrow was excavated in 1963 in advance of road-widening works on the N 59 Sligo-Ballina road (Danaher 1964, 145). The pit-burial, which represented a secondary phase of activity at the barrow, was inserted into the E side of the barrow. It consisted of a pit in which the cremated remains of an adult human of unknown gender were placed. Ccremated animal bones were also recovered and five decorated pottery sherds of Food Vessel type Food Vessel-like. Twelve fragments of chert were found in the vicinity of the pit-burial. (Danaher 1964, 145-158)
