In level, lowlying damp pasture. Ground rises gradually c. 100m to S. Roughly circular mound (9.5m N–S; 10m E–W; H 0.6m at W, 0.7m at NE) composed of a dense concentration of heat-shattered stones in a matrix of dark brown/black charcoal-rich soil. The mound is marked by a covering of grass which is greener than the surrounding rush-grown pasture.
