In improved pasture, in the valley bottom of the Owenykeevan River, on the E bank of the river.
According to local tradition, there was a burial ground in this field, from which the townland derived its name. The stones marking the graves were removed during land reclamation, and were incorporated into a long rock pile which forms a substantial roughly N-S field division at the E of the field. There is no visible trace of the burial ground, and has not been possible to identify any of the displaced grave-markers.
