What is recorded here

Situated on level ground in gently undulating pasture. Not marked on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Raised roughly circular area (diam. 18m) enclosed by a scarp of earth and stone (ext. H 0.55m). There is no visible trace of a fosse at ground level. From WSW-W- NNW the scarp is mostly levelled and only a low scarp (H 0.3m) survives. From NNW-NE-E the line of the removed scarp is visible as a low inward facing scarp (int. H 0.2m). From E-SE the scarp is entirely absent. The original entrance is not recognisable. A SW-NE drystone wall divides the site lying to SE of centre across the interior. The site has been levelled to the NW of this wall. Compiled by: Mark Keegan Date of upload: 19 January 2011
