What is recorded here

Located in flat, lowlying poorly drained coastal pasture, traversed by a network of field drains. When first recorded in 1993 this fulacht fia appeared as a low irregular-shaped mound (c. 10m N-S; c. 9m E–W) of heat-shattered stone and charcoal, which had been suffered disturbance in the past. The N end of the mound was markedly higher and incorporated a small semicircular depression (Wth 0.6m N–S). A raised rim or scarp (H 0.5m) defined the S edge of the mound. The limits of the mound along its W and E edges were more irregular and difficult to trace. An inspection in 2013 found that the mound is extant but has been graded-off somewhat during land improvement works, and now appears as a low, roughly circular rise (12m N–S; 11m E–W; H 0.5-0.6m). The N end of the mound is highest (H 0.5-0.6m) and a low scarp can be traced N–SE but elsewhere the limits of the mound are less clearly defined and grade seamlessly into the surrounding field surface.
