What is recorded here

Situated on a slight NNE-facing slope on wet ground, on S edge of Drumcliff Bay. An E-W orientated 2m high scarp 11m to the N of this monument marks the division between the pastureland and the foreshore. Roughly oval flat-topped mound (dims. top 7m N-S; 5m E-W; H 0.4-1.2m) of sod-covered charcoal-rich earth and heat-shattered stone. The scarped edge increases in height from S-N due to the underlying natural slope. There is no definite indication for the position of a trough. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
