What is recorded here

Situated on a flat-topped rise in undulating rocky pasture. Natural ground level slopes down steeply c.6m outside the site SW-E. Roughly circular area (dims. 26m E-W; 25m N-S) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 1.6m; H 0.5m). There is no fosse visible at ground level. The bank is best preserved N-SE where the internal sides are revetted with thick limestone slabs laid on edge. From SE-N the revetting is absent and the bank is very denuded. A WNW-ESE orientated drystone field wall crosses the S side of the interior intersecting with the bank of the rath at WSW and at SE. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
