Situated in a vertical scarp overlooking foreshore at the NW end of Oyster Island. This midden, which is indicated on the 1940-1 OS 6-inch map as 'Kitchen Midden', extends for c. 30m and is visible as a thin band (T 0.1-0.3m) of shell 0.1-0.3cm below the sod and 1m above the foreshore. The midden material consists primarily of oyster shells with some limpets also visible.
