What is recorded here

Situated in low-lying level wet pasture. Slightly raised roughly circular area (diam. 25m) enclosed by a low broad bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.35m; int. H 0.35m). At the external foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 4.7m; D 0.3m). From NE-ESE the bank has been removed. A NNW-ESE orientated field bank, with a drain on the E side, crosses the E side of the site intersecting with the bank of the rath at NNW and at ESE; the rath has been levelled to the E of this boundary. From NW-ESE the fosse is absent. An E-W orientated drain, now silted up, has been cut along the line of the absent fosse NNW-NE. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
