What is recorded here

Situated on a slight S-facing slope, in gently undulating upland pasture. Raised circular area (diam. c.26m) enclosed by a low denuded bank of earth and stone (Wth 5.1-5.5m; int. H 0.3m). At the external foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 3.9m) and an external bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.9m; int. H 0.4m). A large roughly rectangular relic quarry hole (dims. 28m N-S; 14m E-W; D 0.5-1.6m) now occupies the E half of the interior including the internal bank and extending across the fosse and external bank at SE. There are two possible entrances to the site; a break (Wth 3.5m) in the internal bank with an opposing break, offset slightly to E, in the external bank at NNE and the second is a break (Wth 6.5m) in the internal bank at SSW.
