What is recorded here

Situated on a steep SSE-facing slope in upland pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by a low broad earth and stone bank (Wth 7m; int. H 0.8-1.35m; ext. H 0.8-1.4m). At the external foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 4.9m; 0.3-1.5m). From NE-SE the fosse is silted up and barely visible. A break (Wth 2m) in the bank at NE, now blocked with a boulder, probably marks the position of the original entrance. The level of the N one-third of the interior is lower than that of external ground level while S two-thirds of the site is raised above external ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
