Situated in low-lying level wet pasture on a very slight S-facing slope. Slightly raised roughly circular area (dims. 27m E-W; 26m N-S) enclosed by a narrow internal bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.3m). At the external foot of the internal bank is the first flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 3.6m). Immediately outside the first fosse is a broad intermediate bank (Wth 3.75m; int. H 0.7m). At the external foot of the intermediate bank is a second flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 5.35m). Immediately outside the second fosse is a broad external bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.6m). From NW-NNE the intermediate bank has been almost entirely removed. A sweathouse (SL008-036002-) has been built into intermediate bank at NNE. A NNE-WSW orientated field boundary bank crosses the external bank of the rath at NW and at SW. A drystone wall extends E-W from the intermediate bank at NW and along the external face of the internal bank NNW-NNE. A break (Wth 1.7m) in the internal with a corresponding break in the intermediate bank (Wth 2.5m) and the external bank (Wth 3.8m) at SSE marks the position of the original entrance.
