What is recorded here

Situated on a slight rise in gently undulating pasture on slight N-facing slope. Roughly circular area (dims. 16m N-S; 15m E-W) enclosed by low wall footings (Wth 1m; int. H 0.3m). No fosse visible. The footings of the cashel wall enclose the site ESE-NW. A modern drystone wall has been constructed on the line of the cashel wall NW-N and NE-ESE. A semi-circular sheep pen (dims. 6m NW-SE; 4m NE-SW) defined by modern drystone walls straddles the line of the cashel wall N-NE. The footings of the cashel wall consist mainly of an irregular low rubble limestone bank. Some of the inner and outer facing survives S-SSW consisting of limestone slabs laid on edge at the inner and outer base of the wall with a fill of rubble between the slabs. Original entrance not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
