What is recorded here

Situated on level ground, on slight rise in gently undulating low-lying wet pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 26m) enclosed by a stone bank (Wth 4.4m; int. H 1.35m) of random limestone rubble. No fosse visible at ground level. A portion of the original external wall facing, made up of un-coursed large limestone flags, survives NNE-E. Modern drystone field walls have been built on top of and along the centre line of the bank E-NNW. The external face of the cashel has been reconstructed to form the rear wall of a small cattle yard, with a small shed and the ruined remains of a house that abuts the external side of the cashel at SE. A modern NW-SE orientated drystone wall links to the modern wall on top of the cashel bank at NW. A break (Wth 1.7m).in the bank at SW marks the position of the original entrance.
