What is recorded here

Marked on the 1837 and 1915 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and described in gothic lettering on both as 'St Bridget's Well'. It is situated on a level landscape. This is a natural rectangular spring (dims c. 5m E-W; c. 2m N-S) surrounded by field stones and overgrown but open to the SW and used by cattle.
