Located on a rise in a low-lying undulating landscape, it was at one time close to the NW angle of a field and was preserved during land reclamation. This is a rectangular feature (dims 1.2m E-W; 1.1m N-S) defined by a stone at E (dims 1.2m N-S; 0.25m E-W; H 0.6m) and N (dims 0.8m E-W; 0.2m N-S; H 0.4m), and drystone walling at S. It is surrounded by an overgrown spoil mound (dims c. 8m E-W; c. 5m N-S; H c. 1m).
