On a broad hillock in a low-lying landscape. The church of Cloonoghil (RO051-061001-) and its burial ground (RO051-061002-) are within a large grass and scrub-covered enclosure (dims c. 135m NW-SE; c. 120m NE-SW) defined by a stone spread (Wth 4.7-6m; int. H 0.6-1.2m; ext. H 0.8-1.6m) which is absent at NE and disturbed at SW. The interior of the enclosure is divided into small plots (RO051-061006-).
