What is recorded here

On an E-facing slope in an undulating landscape. Circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 36m NW-SE; 33m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 6.7-7.3m; int. H 1-1.2m; ext. H 2-2.2m), which is removed ENE-SE but with evidence of a stone wall on top which is most visible WNW-N. There is an outer flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7.8-8m; Wth of base 1.6-2.1m; D 1-1.35m) and an overgrown outer bank (Wth 3-4.4m; H 0.3-0.7m) NNW-E-WSW (max. ext. diam. 52m NE-SW). There is no identifiable original entrance, but souterrain (RO051-05002-) is inside the inner bank at NW. Cashel (RO051-049----) is c. 200m to the NNW. See the attached aerial view taken from the W.
