On a slight rise in a low-lying landscape with the W-E Cross river c. 70m to the S. This is a 12th century church that probably became a Chapel-of-ease for the rural part of the Athlone parish of St Peter’s. This is a rectangular ivy-covered structure, of which only the E wall and adjacent parts of the N and S walls with good quoins survives (ext. dims 7.7m plus E-W; 7.3m N-S). The gabled E wall has a single-light round-headed limestone window in a round-headed embrasure, probably 12th-century in date. The church is at the N angle of a rectangular graveyard (RO051-018002-) (dims 25m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by masonry walls. The basin of a bullaun stone (RO051-018003-) (dims 0.5m x 0.35m; D 0.2m) is cut in bedrock c. 20m SW of the graveyard, but is no longer visible and St Bridget's well (RO052-024----) is c. 190m to the NE.
