On a N-facing slope at the S edge of a bog. This is thought locally to have been built by the Newcommen family who moved here from Newcommen Castle (RO051-071----) c. 1700. The SW angle of a two-storey house (L 8.8m at S; 4.6m at W) with a brick fireplace and brick internal arches. Probably 18th-century in date. (Craig 1982, 177)
