Situated at the E end of a low WNW-ESE ridge in a low-lying landscape c. 80m W of the NE-SW Killeglan River above the point where the stream turns W. The castle (RO050-008001-) is just outside the S end of the W wall of a bawn, which is a grass-covered area (dims c. 30m WNW-ESE; 24m NNE-SSW) defined by sections of masonry wall at the N (L 6m; H 0.3m) and W sides while the E and S sides formed by steep natural scarps.
